After hearing so much about Sarah J Maas i had to start reading a court of thorns and roses. when I went to my local bookstore and saw they had acotar, i had to have it and start reading it.

what is it about?

It’s about a girl called Feyre who is really struggling to keep her and her family alive. the winter is for Feyre and her family a really hard time when there aren’t  a lot of animals  around to kill for food. So when she sees a wolf she doesn’t think twice about killing it. But killing it didn't came without consequences. to pay the price for killing the wolf she gets captor by a large beast (faerie) called Tamlin. She has two choices: die by his hand here right now, or go to Prythian (Faerie lands) to live there with him and the rest of his court. She of course agrees to go with him to the court of spring so she doesn’t get killed. Now u most likely think it would continue to be like the Disney tale. because it’s a retelling of beauty and the beast. But it’s noting like it, It’s so much more. It’s packed with adventures and romance en it becomes really fast super intense, and gripping. It’s so much more than a love story it’s  about survival and overcoming your fears.

“I love you,’ he whispered, and kissed my brow. ‘Thorns and all.”
— Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Thorns and Roses

What are my thoughts.

I’m not gone lie I’m writing this review when I already read the second book in this series. (a court of mist and fury) knowing what will happen in there I realize that I totally misread Tamlin. My first thoughts of him where that he is super sweet and cute, but also very powerful, confident and mysterious. which he is especially in this book. He will do every thing to protect Feyre, and make her as healthy and happy as possible. he tells her she isn’t a prisoner and that she is allow to do what she pleases. but she can’t go outside on her own,  Tamlin or Lucien (Tamlin’s right hand) has to go with her because its to “Dangerous”.  You see Tamlin in his best form and it’s really easy to fall in love with his character.

Feyra on the other hand I really struggled with. I wasn't the biggest fan of her character. At first you see a strong and independent girl who isn't too afraid to do what she wants or say what she wants. But the longer she is with Tamlin, the more closed off she gets. and the more whiny, silence and dependent on Tamlin she becomes. i feel like her character didn't really develop like i want it to be.

And then we have lucien, oh lucien where do I begin. He is my favorite character in this story! he is so funny, he really crack me up.

Then the last one i’m gonna talk about is Rhysand. and boy did I hate Rhys in this book. he is so arrogant and cocky/self centered. this book did him no good lucky for him that change in book two.

all together story wise it get better and better, there is nothing left of the retelling of Disney's beauty and the beast. it's more mature and grown up.

how many stars?

I give it 4,5 stars, why do I give it not 5? it’s because I get sometimes so annoyed with Feyre that it started to bother me. but I still really like this book and I definitely recommend it, if you're looking for a good fantasy/romance story.
