When I read the synopsis of this book I know I had to read it. It sounded really op my street and something that I would really like. So when I received this as a ARC, I couldn't be happier. But was it as good as I thought it would be?

I need to venture out, go to high school, experience just a little bit of my teenage years before it’s too late.
— I Spy The Boy Next Door, Samantha Armstrong

What is it about?

Mallory Taylor is homeschool her whole life. She only has one best friend (online) who she never met before call Nicole, or as she is called most times Nic. The reason that Mallory is homeschool is because when she was a little kid, she almost got kidnapped. After that she suffered from really bad anxiety and nightmares. That's the reason why her parents decided to homeschool Mallory and her little brother. five years ago a boy and his father moved in to the house next door, a really really hot guy. Since then mallory always looks out of her window when her hot neighbor comes home from his run, “sweaty and shirtless” it's the highlight of her day.

She finally convinced her mother to let her go to public school, When Mallory than comes face to face with her hot neighbor, Troy Parker. He makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. She actually finds him to be a real asshead. But when Troy starts to show up when Mallory needs him the most, she can’t help but wonder if there is more to him than he’s let on.

Mallory has never experience anything, so taking chances, and breaking rules, and following her heart, is all new to her. No one warned her just how fickle hearts can be. She discovers that Troy isn't the guy she imagined him to be. all the secrets come out and will absolutely change her life forever.

Stop staring.” “Me? Stop staring?” He scoffs. “I’ve got the next five years to catch up to you.

My thoughts on it?

This book had so much potential. I loved the concept of a girl how’s been homeschooled, spying on her hot neighbor, it just has something hilarious to it. I expected it to be a super funny story, and super lightweight and easy to read. It definitely has some really funny things in it, and i love mallory relationship with her best friend Nic. It remind me of me and my best friend.

Troy Parker is your typical bad boy who is actually a real softy from the inside. He rides a Harley Davidson, participate in illegal fighting, and from the outside he is a real bad boy. But when it comes to Mallory Taylor he will do everything to protect her and make her happy.

I thought this story put every teenage problem in it that we know of. We have Mallory's anxiety and her parents who are really overprotective but are fine with the fact that she closes her door and locks it? and they don't have a clue that the guy next door slips inside her bedroom at night? i mean come on really?!  I thought it was a bit creepy that at the beginning Mallory has been spying on her neighbor for five years and totally otterly in love is with him, even if they never talked before. But why because he is hot?  And when they actually meet, he absolutely hates her and wants nothing to do with her. But at the end he falls head over heels for her?! yeah very realistic.

I did flew threw this book but the last 30 to 25% it was a bit heavy and heart breaking and a bit confusing why some stuff really happened. I had a lot of mix feelings about this and I wasn't sure if I liked it as much as I anticipated it would be . I did like some parts of it, even loved some parts. It has definitely a lot of humor in it. but there were also a lot of parts were I got frustrated with the story and parts were I only could roll my eyes at.

Hey,” he says, gentle, and steady. “You don’t have anything to worry about, okay? I got you. Today and all the todays after.

How many stars?

I gave it 3,5 stars, most part because I did enjoy the mix of genre, of Young Adult and New Adult which are my faves. And because there were very funny en lovely parts in it that out rated the bad ones.
