#ROMANCEATHON DAY 5 REVIEW: THE BOY IS BACK BY MEG CABOT.
Day 5 of romanceathon is to read a romance book with a man on the cover. This book really disappointed me, I had lots of high hopes about it, but the only thing I liked is the cover.
What is it about?
Becky flowers owns a successful senior relocation business in her hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. Reed Stewart left Bloomington ten years ago to become a famous golfer.
Becky and Reed were a hot item in high school, but something went dramatically wrong on the day of prom night, and Reed left town for good, Until ten years later. Reed parents get arrested for attempting to pay dinner with a postage stamp, and Reed is forced to go back to Bloomington. Reed and his siblings uncover that their parents have a whole pile of financial problems and raising concerns about their mental state.
Now Reed and Becky can’t avoid one another, or the memories of that one fateful night. Becky doesn’t think twice to help Reed’s parents who where always so nice to her. But can the quirky residents of Bloomville bring these two young people back together, or will Reed and Becky continue to allow their pasts to deny them the future they deserve?
What are my thoughts?
I really didn’t like this book, it really didn’t work for me at all.
The first thing i didn’t like is that the story format is from newsletters, emails, chat rooms, review and messages. Which I realize with in the first 10 pages I really didn’t enjoy and it kind of bothered me.
Then second off all, I really didn’t like any character, they are so nosy! They were just plain annoying and every single one of them made me nervous.
This proves that a beautiful cover doesn’t always mean that the story is good. I just bought the book without really knowing what the story is about, I just really liked the cover. And oh boy what a mistake.
How many stars?
i give it 2,0 stars. I don’t think I ever give a book 2 stars so this is a first.
